The engagement is said to have been inspired by the couples 7 year-old daughter's life threatening illness earlier this year.The experience has made the family's bond even stronger. The couple plan to marry this summer in the small French village of Plan de la Tour, near St Tropez.
A source from their village in France said that Johnny and Vanessa have one of "the strongest relationships in Hollywood but after their daughter was taken ill the family became an even closer-knit unit."
