Chris Sligh and Gossip Blog 'ONTD' Don't Like Each Other

There's a spat going on over at the gossip blog ONTD, and American Idol's Chris Sligh is the focal point.

As the story goes, Chris was 'bragging' to people online about how many hits his blog gets and so someone over at ONTD commented by saying that it's probably ONTD sending the traffic by mocking him.

Well, Chris didn't take that so well and responded with this on TWOP..

"Well, thanks for the hits, Mandee. Though I do have to point out that most days there isn't a Chris Sligh post, so I doubt that's absolutely true. I check it daily, believe me, I know. Also, I can tell where traffic is coming from, and though there are a few hits per day, the majority of hits do not come from that. Granted, people might actually learn the address and skip ontd altogether. But I have a feeling people actually find the site enjoyable. Maybe I'm delusional.

I'm glad you're proud of ontd...they're great, if greatness is equated with sitting on the sidelines critiquing people more famous than them. But hey I guess somebody has to do it. They're great at what they do,

By the way, what is the average age of the editors of ontd? Just wondering for my own satisfaction.

Very soon, as you guys have pointed out, I'll no longer be a celebrity and there'll be no need for posting about me.

Until then,
Peace and love,
Chris "

Jordin Sparks Is This Years 'American Idol'

This seasons American Idol wrapped up with Jordin Sparks being crowned as the winner.

The season finale was loaded with Hollywood icons such as Bette Midler, Tony Bennett and Smokey Robinson.

I enjoyed the season finale more than I thought I would. Maybe it was the 'Memorial Day Weekend is almost here' shots of tequila I had, or maybe it was actually good.

Here are the highlights and lowlights of this years season finale of American Idol.

Gwen Stefani started off the show, and she was alright. I love Gwen, but she hasn't changed her game up any in some time. Her performance was mediocre and the song was boring. I fast forwarded my DVR.
Sorry Gwen..

Kelly Clarkson was amazing everytime she sang. I loved her Alanis Morrisette-like girl anthem that she sang with passion. It was angsty and rebellious. I loved it. I became a fan of Kelly's tonight just with that performance. Kelly looked great tonight despite recent photos of her looking a bit heavier. Thank God for corsets. Her hem could've used a couple more inches in length but she owned that stage and commanded your attention. Love ya Kels.

Doug E. Fresh and Blake Lewis beat-boxing together was amazing. I am a huge fan of old school rap so I was psyched to hear the two challenge each other to a beat-box breakdown. If Blake ever impressed me it was tonight in this performance. He held his own with schooled rapper Fresh, and brought a nice mix of new school melded with old school, turned into a fresh mix of sound that everyone can enjoy. It was hot, and might possibly be my favorite American Idol performance ever.

American Idol brought back Jonathan and Kenneth, the 'bush baby' and the chubby kid in the Hawaiian shirt from Seattle to give them an award. (What award was it?)

I thought it was great that AI brought these two back after publicly ridiculing them and mocking their appearance. It seems the publicity has brought many good things to these two and they seemed grateful. Kenneth, the one who Simon proclaimed as the 'bush baby' said to Simon,

"If you hadn't said what you said, I wouldn't be where I'm at."

Right on brother. I'm glad something good came out of it. Being called a bush baby on national television would have thrown me off the deep end. I'm happy to see it worked out.

Amidst all the excitement tonight I realized tonight what it was about Jordin Sparks that bugged me. It is her drop jaw. Every time someone complimented her, or the camera was focused on her, she dropped her jaw and displayed an open mouthed smile.

That's it! That's what bugged me about her all season. It just seemed fabricated and staged. It took me until tonight to pinpoint what quirk of hers bothered me, but that was it. And she did it all night long. The moment I realized it was when she and Blake were given the keys to their new Mustangs.

Next it was the African Childrens Choir who were just darling. I last saw them on Leno just before Christmas and I never forgot them. I was thrilled to see them on tonight's AI finale.

Sanjaya and Joe Perry. The introduction leading up to Sanjaya's performance was awesome. It made you want to see Sanjaya, it made you anticipate his performance. And then he sang and reminded us why we hated him all season long. Oh Sanjaya.

Bette Midler was da bomb of course. She may be aging and all, but I love her and felt it was a treat to have someone of her status performing on American Idol of all places. I'll take a performance of hers anyway I can get it. Love you Bette.

Then it was time for the past American Idol's to perform songs off of the Beatle's 'Sgt. Pepper' album.

Taylor Hicks was great. I loved him last year and he did good tonight as I enjoyed his performance.

Then there was Carrie Underwood. I thought she was awful. Sorry, but she was was off key in the beginning. I fast forwarded my DVR to Rueben Studdard who did much better.

After that it went to commercial. There were 10 minutes left in the finale. The announcement of this years American Idol was up next and I was ready to see who it was. Unfortunately for me, the show went over time (or something?) and my DVR cut off at the last set of commercials. So I was reduced to getting online and reading who the winner was. Boy, that really ruined the experience.

So from what I read Jordin was crowned the winner. Which is no surprise to me. Once she cried last night i knew she had it in the bag. Blake, if you could have mustered up some tears you might have had a shot.

All in all though, Jordin was the better singer and deserved it. She's just lucky that Melinda Doolittle didn't make it that far.

Who Should Be This Years America Idol?

Paula Abdul Breaks Her Nose

Paula Abdul broke her nose on Saturday after tripping and falling while trying to avoid stepping on her Chihuahua, Tulip.

Abdul's rep David Brokaw told People Magazine, "She went to the doctor and she did break her nose, but she's moving on and doing great. She looks terrific. If you didn't know she broke her nose, you'd never guess anything happened to her."

"She is in pain. No question about that," Brokaw says. "But she's standing 10 feet from me and you'd never know anything happened to her. There are no bandages. She's got some bruises on her arms and on one of her legs."

"I have no knowledge of her taking anything,(pain medication)" Brokaw says. "But she's very alert and clear-headed and having fun."

Abdul is still expected to appear on Tuesday's American Idol and it's season finale on Wednesday.

Paula seems upbeat depite her injury saying that her dog, "[Tulip] has no remorse, she just stared at me."

Kelly Clarkson Says Media is Amplifying Reports That Clive Davis Despises Her Latest CD

Kelly Clarkson says the media is magnifying stories that Clive Davis hates her upcoming CD, ''My December,", which is scheduled for release in July.

Clarkson recently told AP Television, "You know what it is: This situation is just blown up. This record is no different from my other records. Every record I've come out with, people have not liked.''

Despite reports that the first American Idol's latest CD is appalling, Clarkson says it is 'really cool,' and that she takes the backlash as constructive criticism.

''There's always this battle, and it's not a bad battle to have. I mean, you obviously don't want 'yes' people around you. And, obviously, (Davis) and others at the label have been in the business far longer than I have. So you obviously take their opinions in.''

''I always go with my gut. My gut has obviously done pretty well for me thus far, so I don't see why I shouldn't keep listening to it."

''My whole goal is not just to sell millions of records. My whole goal is to have people like my music, come out to shows. That's basically it. I'm pretty low-key.''

Melinda Doolittle Voted Off American Idol

This is why I prefer the beginning of the American Idol season versus the end.

Melinda Doolittle should have been the winner of this years American Idol. She was clearly the strongest, best and most consistent singer.

But you know how AI works. 90% of the people who actually vote are below the age of 17. Doolittle isn't the ultra chic, young spirit that the kids are looking for. She's an old soul, a timeless classic..that's why she lost.

I like Blake, but c'mon. He is not even close to being a great singer. Sure, he is entertaining, original and to some cute, but ehh..

Jordin is a great singer even though she is only seventeen years-old. At this point I think she will and should win the competition. But I thought for sure that Doolittle was the going to be the winner hands down, so what do I know?

I don't know why I am surprised. Last year I thought Chris Daughtry should have won, and I still think he was the best last year.

What do you think Smackaholics? Are you as shocked as I am about Melinda Doolittle?

Give Mom a Beautiful Bouquet for Mother's Day

Chris Robinson and Phil Stacey Speak About Their Time on American Idol

Chris Robinson and Phil Stacey were both eliminated this week on American Idol, the first double elimination ever in the show's history.

Entertainment Tonight spoke with the two Idol finalists and asked them about their relationships, their futures and who they think will walk away as this years American Idol.

ET: Was there a specific performance where the reaction from the judges surprised you?

PHIL: My big surprise came [during] country week. I am more in my comfort zone in country music, but I was so used to getting the critical feedback that when Randy was, "Dude, you were good this week," I was, "Really? Sweet!" That was the one time that my reaction was really surprised.

CHRIS: I remember back in the earlier rounds, I didn't think "Geek in the Pink" would go over too well with the judges. I went out there skeptical. I thought, "Would they like something different?" I went out there and did it. They seemed to really love it. I am glad I did that now.

ET: We know Phil is married, but Chris, are you dating anyone? We heard you might be seeing Lauren Conrad?

CHRIS: I just got out of a three-and-a-half year relationship back home. That's about it. All the other stuff is just rumors. Those people are just my friends and acquaintances. I am pretty much single right now, but still respecting the fact that I got out of a relationship with my girlfriend.

ET: Phil, your commitment to the Navy goes through October 2008. Do you know for sure if you will be able to go on the "American Idol" tour?

PHIL: My primary responsibility is to the United States Navy. The possibility exists that they will need me for a mission. If that is the case, I am committed to following through with my commitment to the Navy. So far, they have been 100 percent flexible with me with "American Idol." They have been gems. They are a huge support base for me. I give the Navy all the props in the world for letting me do what I have done this far.

ET: What song do you want to sing on the tour?

CHRIS: I haven't thought that far ahead. I have a lot of songs in the database. I've just got to figure out which one will best suit the style of music I will be coming out with on my album.

PHIL: I think if I get the opportunity to do the tour, I would really like to do something -- the "Idol Gives Back" thing really changed my life. I think one thing I want to do is be a positive influence on people, and a role model of sorts. I think as a Navy guy, I would like to go out and do something patriotic like "God Bless the U.S.A.", something to represent the Navy and be a unifying factor for us as Americans.

ET: Chris, how was it that you and Blake became so close?

CHRIS: It started in Hollywood. It was just one of those things where we clicked. We had a lot in common: music taste and music style, personality traits, and loyalty and friendship. It was just one of those things where we bonded.

ET: Chris, you had such unique looks on this show -- where did you get your clothes? Were they your own, or did you go shopping?

CHRIS: We would go shopping. I don't remember the names [of the stores]. I remember seeing things and liking it. Sometimes the outfits would go together and sometimes they wouldn't, but it was on purpose that I did that. When I shopped, I tried to fit my style and the theme of the week.

ET: Who do you see as the current frontrunner to become the next "American Idol"?

PHIL: I think the four people who are left have individual strengths that set them apart. Blake is most likely the most original contestant ever on "American Idol." He blew it out this week with Bon Jovi. Melinda is possibly the greatest singer I have ever heard on the show. Lakisha sings with so much passion, it is hard not to get chills. Jordin has a range that lasts for days. Her upper notes have so much power behind them. I think it is anybody's ballgame at this point.

CHRIS: I feel the same exact way.

Paula Abdul is Still a Mess

A slurring, disoriented Paula Abdul was on QVC this weekend, generating more interest in her bizarre on-air antics than her jewelry line.

It's the age old question: What's wrong with Paula Abdul?

There are a few theories as to why Paula often appears to be intoxicated in public.

#1) She's drunk. This seems the obvious choice. Paula displays actions similar to an inibriated person, such as slurring, not finishing complete thoughts and slowed reaction time for example.

#2) She pops pills. Another front runner, and possibly combined with #1.

#3) She has a medical condition in which she has not yet been diagnosed or has not come public with. This is truly another possibility that many overlook. I find it weird that the producers of American Idol would put her out there, 'drunk' and unable to complete sentences even if they are going for ratings. How incredibly low would that be, to exploit someone's illness like that? It would be very low, but certainly reality shows have been known to do worse.
