Moondogging

"International ensemble/collective o.e.s. brings a multitude of interpretations to a composition by the eccentric avant-garde composer, Moondog.

"Moondogging" is the hommage that o.e.s. pays to the legendary figure of Moondog. o.e.s. worked on a song of his titled "Lovesong" that has a twin in an instrumental track titled "Fujiyama". The song sings a story that is similar to the one of Tristan and Iseult or of Romeo and Juliet. a very tragic love story. ..."

Mamie Van Doren, still a troublemaker

Mamie Van Doren is of course a favorite for any PCL'er.
I know it's often considered rude to discuss a woman's age. But, I don't think Mamie cares much about such earthly things, since she just have embarked a new career as a country singer. In three days this force of nature will celebrate her 80th birthday. It's a strange feeling listening to the lyrics for her song carrying her own name. The baddest bad girl in town chares a few biographical notes. That Edward G. Robinson's kisses tasted cigar smoke may come as no surprise to anyone. But you shall remember that he died 38 years ago at the age of 80.
She dated Howard Hughes in 1940s. Well, she has dated them all!
Mamie Van Doren has been around - and she has been around for a loooong time.
Of course she is no teenager. And perhaps she is no exceptional country singer. And maybe, just maybe, Mamie wasn't as good actress as Marilyn.
Who cares! 79 years old she's out with a new country album, she has her own wine label and she's a serial blogger and facebook-heroine. And she's as platinum blonde as ever. Mamie is an icon, lives her life like she was 22. And her boobs just gets bigger and bigger ... She's a winner!

The always interesting Music for Maniacs has this 33-track wild and groovy exotica comp. for you to scare the hell outta the neighbors with. Tracks in Isolation

Studio Multitracks - Tracks in Isolation is an intersting music blog where Henry posts well-known songs on which one or several tracks has been separeted from the multitracks of the finished product. For example if you have been waiting all your life to hear just the vocals from Def Leppard's "Rock of Ages", or just Debbie Harry's vocal track to "Hanging on the Telephone" (at least some of it), or if you are a slut for Eddie Van Halen' guitar work on Michael Jackson's "Beat It", or as in my case loves to listen to the Vocals/Keyboard/Bass/Drums/Guitar Solo tracks of The Carpenters "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft" this is the place for You!

Helter Skelter (guitar track, drums and some leaked other things)
