The Routers: A Serendipitous eBay Mistake
I was looking for an inexpensive wireless N router and got this high up in the results:
The Routers - never heard of 'em - but that's 'cause it looks like something my Uncle Rudy would've offered to put on the HiFi for me because it was Rock n' Roll, while I waited for him to leave so I could get at his Playboy collection (why were a naked man and woman in bed in that cartoon?) . Who knew - industrialized session men music produced for the bargain bin of the sundries aisle of the grocery.... In addition they invented, and I quote: "clap clap clapclapclap clapclapclapclap let's go!" hence the cheerleaders on the cover of their third album pictured above which featured one of their hits, Stingray, present below along with the clap-happy Let's Go.
They briefly featured Leon Russell, who presumably ruined that experience like he did everywhere else he went. Black Cat Rockabilly Europe has a pretty good history and The Routers even have a Wikipedia page, too.

Chi-Bi-Do-Wam
This is the Swedish rock and roller Jerry Willliams and his band The Violents doing "Just The Same (Chi-Bi-Do-Wam)" in 1963.

Was It Love? - The Royal Cavaliers
I'm jazzed that the bass player is my brother-in-law! Cool.
The Royal Cavaliers were a 60's rock group from Kutztown, Pennsylvania. The band featured Kevin Snyder on guitar, Steve Haring on keyboard, Randy Hoffman on bass, Richard Gaugler on drums and Randy Schlegel on lead guitar. They cut two demo tracks of original tunes, "Was It Love?" and "I'll Try Again", both produced by engineer/entrepreneur Clay Barclay in 1966. Barclay recorded many Eastern PA bands in a recording studio based in his parents' Orwigsburg, PA home and later relocating to Reading, PA. His facilities captured the top regional acts, producing over two dozen highly-coveted 7-inch singles.
Also check out their other song I'LL TRY AGAIN.
Both songs appeared on a CD compilation, "Eastern PA Rock, Part Two" released and is still available on ARF! ARF! RECORDS. Check out their site, it's filled with a lot of cool and rare stuff, if you like it, buy a CD or two and support the small labels!
R.I.P., Mr. Van Vliet.
The Twitter hive mind tells me that Captain Beefheart has died. What a sad day...

EDDIE VAN HALEN - Reinvents the Guitar !
The EVH website
From Eddie Van Halen comes an all-new guitar—the Wolfgang—representing over 35 years of cumulative EVH experience and expertise in guitar design. The process undertaken to develop the Wolfgang took over two years of intense trial-and-error research. The formidable task yielded a series of prototypes that endured a full year of brutal in-concert road testing by Eddie on Van Halen’s triumphant 2007-2008 world tour. The result is a bulletproof and beautiful tonal giant of a guitar that takes whatever you can dish out and then asks for more.
As the VH tour kicked off in the fall 2007, Eddie pushed every aspect of the Wolfgang’s performance capabilities to the absolute limit, playing various Wolfgang prototypes every night on virtually every song. As the tour roared along, Eddie changed and adjusted components and specs until he was satisfied with the Wolfgang’s sound, feel and looks. To prove that it was battle-worthy and could survive the road, performance data was collected from every gig for months and months to establish and confirm consistency and durability.
BILLY POWELL - Lynyrd Skynyrd Keyboardist (1953-2009)
Powell joined Skynyrd in 1973 and survived the 1977 plane crash that took the lives of band members Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, Cassie Gaines and several crew members. He left the group that same year and hooked up with the Christian rock band Vision. He rejoined Skynyrd in 1989 and remained a member until his death. Kid Rock inducted the band into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in March 13, 2006.
