From the only French accordionist who could pass for a country star, it's YVETTE HORNER and her magical squeezebox.

Hard Times
Cabinessence on Guitar Red's Hard Times:
ultra lo-fi. i think he has an old church organ with an amazing drum machine and some cheap synth.
most guitar is great wah or direct 4 track plug in.
certainly a bare bones find.
Disco From a Space Show:
Inside the Triangle, Not That There's Anything Wrong With That
From 1975, Thee Image will rock you, for the love of God, please put your shirts back on. You know, I could have chosen the seventies oh-so-relevant "Rapture of the Deep" with its chewy soft nougaty center and crap lyrics that would make even Rod McKuen gack, but instead I selected a pretty decent rocker "IOUs". I think I have used up my week's quota of nice on that one act alone.
Oscar Peterson Trio & Singers Unlimited - In Tune

Children's Games
... another early 1970's selection from Magic Purple Sunshine.
Hugo Goes South of the Border and Lives to Tell the Tale
The world is a dangerous place indeed, one where teeny cacti peek up menacingly and randomly in a sandy beach, but don't some of those foreigners play some darned perky music? Thankfully intrepid traveler Hugo Winterhalter bravely went South of the Border to bring back some music that he subsequently homogenized and made more palatable for those of us with more delicate dispositions.

Hop Digui Di
Usually you only see such louche-looking pictures on mug shots, but it does seem appropriate for this Annie Cordy record cover. Oh, and if you don't speak French as fluently as I do, then I will let you know that Hop Digui Di translates to Hot Diggety. De rien!
Serenades for Sex Kittens
I must admit that I was slightly more than miffed when I found this album at a record convention, paid WAY more than I knew I ought, came home and sent the image directly to PCL leader Mr. Fontana (since the orchestra is listed as Dante & his Orchestra I thought he might be amused)....and got zero response.
Then as I was ripping the album I go to try to find out something about Jay Arcy who wrote the marginally psychotic liner notes for the thing....and find this album was already posted by Stax o'Wax. Over three years ago.
FINE.
Go read the psychotic liner notes over there, I'll just sit here in the corner alone, in a darkened room, weeping quietly. See if I ever try to do anything nice to anyone, ever again.
Beltermania
It's hard to go wrong with a record on the Belter label, so I can relate to Beltermania. Here, not uno, not dos, but Los 3 Sudamericanos dance the Orangutan and complain about the Shame and Scandal in their family.
El Orangutan:
Ping Pong!
WHEEEEE games are fun. So is the album Ping Pong by Alvino Rey, from Distant Earth.
Peanut Vendor - Alvino Rey
(Note: this was the site that posted an album with a virus a few weeks back. I downloaded this and ran Malware, and it says I'm A-OK. But you might be cautious anyway)

Car Park
I would have never thought that there was a problem finding a place to park a car in 1950s Jamaica, but if Monty Reynolds and his Silver Seas Orchestra had to write a song about it, well, then it must have been quite an issue.Unless I'm missing some well hidden innuendo, which I suppose is entirely possible.
Edmundo Ros-Dance Again
This past weekend, I was excited to come across this gem record hunting. I was equally excited to see that Stax-O-Wax had it ripped. I'm a busy man, and you know how time consuming ripping vinyl can be. With all this extra time, I should go visit my family. Con-Air's on, and all those How to Pick Up Chicks tapes to listen to. Ugh! I'm going back to bed.

The Swingin' Eye
Si Zentner - The Swingin' Eye
The album also has a great version of "Little Jazz", the tune written for Roy Eldridge when he was with Artie Shaw's band.
