In these trying times, satire might be the most rational response to reality. Perhaps that explains why fake news, satiric journalism, news parody—whatever you call it—has proliferated. The modern roots of this industry (yes, it is undeniably an industry now) can be traced back at least to Orson Welles' War of the Worlds news bulletins of 1938. Since then, countless permutations of journalistic fakery have taken root, from incisive, trenchant fabrications by The Onion ("U.S. vows to defeat whoever it is we're at war with") to slapstick gags like Obama Girl ("Don't Cry for Me, Alaska: The Sarah Palin Story"). Some satirists aspire to a form of transcendent truth-telling. (Thank you, Jon Stewart.) Others are just in it for the yucks. Which fake news—past or present—best fits your tastes? Tracy Morgan Accused of Groping Radio Personality
A disc jockey in South Florida filed a misdemeanor battery complaint against Tracy Morgan, saying that he inappropriately touched and said vulgar things to her at the radio station Friday morning.
Radio personality Yuleika De Castro, who goes by the on air name of Sandy Diego, claims that that Morgan reeked of alcohol as he touched her shoulders and arms and even kissed the back of her head. De Castro claims she had to push him away.
Morgan was escorted out of the studio by the people he arrived with.
De Castro said she filed the complaint because she felt "violated" and "dirty."
"He said he wants to impregnate me," she told The Associated Press.
Morgan's Friday and Saturday night shows at the Improv Comedy Club in Coconut Grove have been abruptly canceled, but no one is saying why.
The Broward County State Attorney's Office will decide whether or not to file charges once the report is complete.

Tracy Morgan to Wear Alcohol Bracelet for 30 Days
"30 Rock" star Tracy Morgan was ordered to wear an ankle bracelet in order to ensure the comedian doesn't drink after receiving a DUI .
A Los Angeles judge ordered Morgan to wear an ankle bracelet that tests for alcohol vapors that come from the skin, according to the entertainment Web site TMZ.com.
The testing will last 90 days and if it shows Morgan has drank alcoholic beverages, he'll have to wear the bracelet another 90 days. A second failure to stay sober will land him in jail for 30 days.
He's due back in court May 25 to be fitted for the ankle device.
