Shrimp Road Now

Shrimp Road and the waterfront area behind it is going to change drastically in the next few years, if development plans go forward. Much of the land along this road has been sold amidst the recent Key West real estate bubble, and developers plan to recreate the entire waterfront area from Shrimp Road around to Safe Harbor. We'll be seeing fancy shopping areas, a 300-room hotel, and fancy boat slips. Current liveaboard tenants will have to move, and old buildings will be torn down. Rows and rows of old boats up on stilts for "repairs" which seem to have been there for decades, will have to be removed. Take a look at this one:

Robbies Marine is the only place where they can bring real big boats out of the water, since it's so deep. REAL big boats. How will the upscale development plans incorporate this necessary part of the waterfront?

This old metal ship is leaning over, this can't be good.
